A systematic approach to introducing Whole Brain Technology® into an organisation

Read the headlines in any newspaper. The whole world is talking recession.

Almost every economy has slowed. Demand is slowing and in some places even going backwards. Everyone now understands what the term ‘negative growth’ really means.

This means that doing business in the next 12 months is going to get a whole lot tougher. What worked last year will probably not work this year. Every business needs to stop and think twice about what it is going to do.

Now more than ever before business needs to think about what they do and how they do it.

That is what The Business of Thinking is designed to do. The Business of Thinking gives people the skills to think carefully, effectively and in a measured way about everyday business issues. It teaches people to use Whole Brain Thinking in the way the make decisions, solve problems, plan and communicate. It will help organisations avoid the headline news and better cope with the tough times ahead.

The Business of Thinking® is:

  • based on the validated and widely recognised Whole Brain Model™
  • a series of modular workshop sessions
  • implemented from the top down or at any level
  • designed to involve everyone in the organisation
  • managed by an in-house or external program director
  • conducted by an in-house or external Herrmann® Certified Practitioner.

The Business of Thinking® focuses on:

  • individuals and the impact of their thinking preferences
  • the impact of stress on individual thinking preferences
  • teams and the impact of their thinking preferences
  • meeting the demands business places on individuals and teams
  • the application of Whole Brain® Thinking to everyday business issues.

The Business of Thinking® uses a three phase approach—foundation, application and review:

1. Foundation—Start thinking:

  • introduces the concept of Whole Brain Technology® and the HBDI®
  • focuses on individual thinking preferences and their day-to-day implications
  • is a 3-4 hour session.

This module is a prerequisite. It introduces Whole Brain Technology®—the concept on which all the other modules are based.

2. Application—a selection of modules which:

  • are a series of 3-4 hour modules building on the foundation module
  • provide increased understanding of the mental demands needed for organisational and individual success
  • address specific business applications and issues
  • have specific learning outcomes
  • can be selected and mixed according to specific individual, team or business needs.

Available modules are:

ThinkAbout Decision Making™

ThinkAbout Problem Solving™

ThinkAbout Creative Thinking™

ThinkAbout Your Client™

ThinkAbout Teams™

ThinkAbout Communicating™

ThinkAbout Presenting™

ThinkAbout Designing™

ThinkAbout Writing™

3. Review—ThinkAgain and Second thoughts

ThinkAgain:

  • is used, as and when needed, to reinforce the learning and to review previous modules
  • reviews the Whole Brain Model™
  • focuses on the specific needs of participants and how to apply Whole Brain® Thinking
  • can be conducted for groups and individuals.

Second thoughts:

  • is used at the end of the program as a conclusion
  • reviews the entire program and learnings
  • allows individuals to redo their HBDI® and compare profiles with their original
  • reinforces the importance of, and need for Whole Brain® Thinking
  • provides ongoing individual and team applications.
